So here goes. The old resume. To be honest, with my youthful hubris, I never thought I’d be making anything like this ever again. But hey, sometimes it’s fun to freelance or work for others and sometimes bills creep up when least expected.

In terms of what I have done and what I can do, I’m going to let the website speak for itself. I’m just going to take this opportunity to describe the kinds of hats I wear. I guess chronology is as good a method as any other, so let’s start there.

Computing Shtuff:

This has long been my bread and butter, as I’ve been a nerd since about the age of 12, unbeknownst to me. I type at 100+ WPM and am fluent in everything from Mac HyperCard to Wordpress 2.2. I’ve recently returned to these roots and on the computer front, my abilities include design and motion using the Adobe suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects) as well as Sony Vegas and Final Cut Studio, audio production using Ableton and Steinberg software, DVD production and pretty much everything having to do with the web, including e-commerce, web design, marketing, automation, copywriting.

Now, I kind of took a 180 around age 19 and left the computer world behind. I tried majoring in linguistics but that seemed pretty pointless, so I started dancing. Dancing led me into a whole new realm of expertise, the body.

Body Shtuff:

I am a professional breakdancer and have done a significant amount of performing and teaching in this arena. This ultimately led to a production of an hour-long autobiographical one-man show, called “Bite, Scratch, Claw,” and in a whole other arena, toward physical therapy, as I studied anatomy and physiology extensively. My initial impetus for doing so was to increase my flexibility, and this led into yet another direction.

Spiritual Shtuff:

When anatomy couldn’t tell my why no matter how hard I stretched, my hips weren’t getting any more flexible, I developed a theory that due to the fact that energy precedes form, if I were able to release energy blockages in my body, my hips would get more flexible and I’d be a better dancer. This theory has totally panned out and has led me in the direction of spirituality. I have studied and am a semi-licensed energy healer and clairvoyant and am quite quite good at both I must say. Moreover, this led me down the yellow brick road of the astral plane, and eventually toward learning quite a lot about aliens, channelling, and ancient civilizations like the Maya and the Egyptians.

Elastic Illusion Shtuff:

I am one-third of the most famous virtual performance group in the world, Elastic Illusion (I designed the website–ain’t it pretty?!). We make breakdance instructional videos (links on the sidebar) and are a major force in the transformation of consciousness currently occurring on the planet. You can check out all of our videos on youtube. This is my main source of inspiration and income.

Writing Shtuff:

Throughout all of this, I have written. Written about every one of the things I have done. I have written a script about cancer healing through the power of the mind, written a thirty page essay on the difference between the Europeanist and Africanist aesthetics of dance, a fifty page one man show, a twenty page two-man show, some science fiction stories, and a whole lot about my life and my journey and my struggle.

So, if you happen to be someone thinking about “utilizing” me, the biggest thing that I bring to the table is the ability to see between the lines of individual disciplines, to synthesize very disparate information, and to bring creative solutions to nearly everything I do, as by being a jack (and aspiring master) of all trades, I often don’t know how things are “supposed to be done” and have time and time again shown an ability to innovate, leaving the trade masters going.. hrm.. why didn’t I think of that?

For the most part, I work when I feel like it and on what I feel like working on. This is pretty much in order to preserve my sanity, as I was never good at sticking with things that I didn’t enjoy.

And on top of that, people like me and I love people. I am laidback and quite flexible about how to do things and even what things to do.

I must say, I prefer my own projects (for the most part) to other people’s projects, so I hope if you’re reading this, you’ve got a real doozy :)

Say word.

I am learning about going it on my own. Taking control, taking charge. Claiming knowledge, claiming ability. Be willing to stand up and be counted and say yes, I know what I'm doing. Put me in the front row. With tears in my eyes and vulnerability in my heart.
